Michael is interested in sharing Karate

We are a small, cooperative, non-commercial dojo called Shinjinbukan Vancouver Dojo, founded by Daniel Kogan and under the guidane of Onaga Sensei of Okinawa. Our workout space on West Broadway near Macdonald Street in Vancouver consists of a wooden gym floor area of approximately 30' x 30', lobby area that seats approximately 10, and small administrative/changing room. Washrooms are shared with the adjoining music school. We use the space as a karate dojo from 6-9 pm on M, W, and F evenings, with core attendance expected from 7-9 on as many of these evenings a week as you can make it. Currently all but one of our members are black belts. It is an ideal learning environment for those interested in karate as a way of health, body control, self-discipline, and long-term but not necessarily onerous commitment. We are not a dojo involved in sports karate or sparring.

This sharing interest is posted by the most junior member of the dojo in terms of accomplishment, out of gratitude for what the dojo has given him but without the sanction (which will be sought) of Daniel Kogan Sensei or the leadership of the Vancouver dojo. It is expected that this sharing interest may be removed or edited on their review and until then should be seen only as one person's expression of hope that others will find the dojo and wish to participate in its life.

The photograph is not of a member of the dojo. It is borrowed from Wikipedia. It depicts a famous karate practitioner taking one of the classical stances of karate. Similar forms are taught at Shinjinbukan Vancouver Dojo.
